FAQs

Q. What should I expect at Covenant Life Church gatherings?

A. We are humbled that you are interested in visiting our church, and the privilege to connect with you is something we do not take lightly.  You’ll find that in whatever service you attend we seek to bring glory to God in all that we do-which leads us to unapologetically proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ as the hope for all mankind.  Being that we are a new church plant, our services will continually change in structure and possibly venue, but our message is timeless and relevant (for more on our message, see Gospel).

Corporate Gatherings (Sunday mornings)- This is where we gather to pray, sing, and listen to the preaching of God’s Word.  The service begins at 10:00am and usually ends at 11:30am.  We love songs that are rich in doctrine and theology (this includes both hymns and contemporary songs), thus our musical style is varied.  The priority for us is not style or genre, but biblical content and theological accuracy in the songs we sing.  Throughout the service we also pray for other churches, hear Scripture read, and worship God through giving.  The centerpiece of our gatherings is the preached Word.  Our sermons are expositional (in that the point of the passage is the point of the message), and often times we preach through books of the Bible.  All of our preaching is gospel-centered.  Monthly we observe the Lord’s Supper in our service.  Come as you are, there is no dress code for our gatherings.

Missional Communities- This is where we gather in a more intimate setting to remember and discuss what was preached on Sunday.  This is more than a weekly bible study, this is the vehicle in which life on life discipleship is fostered.  It is not required to have attended Sunday in order to attend a missional community, but having an understanding of what was preached will enhance your experience.  The goal is to help bridge what we learn (knowledge) to the way in which we live our lives (transformation).  We are working towards God’s Word taking root in our lives to bring about change in our lives whereby we are more like Christ.  After 45 minutes of discussion, we then break into gender specific groups for the purpose of accountability.  The usual timeframe of a missional community is 7:15pm until 9:00 pm.

Each missional community has its own process of offering childcare.  For more information on childcare questions, please contact the missional community leaders.

Q. How do I become a member of Covenant Life Church?

A. The local church is the vessel through which the glory of God and the gospel goes forth among all nations.  Given the importance of the church’s mandate to make known the wisdom, glory, and gospel of God, we believe that membership in the local church ought be God-honoring and meaningful.

The process for covenanting together with us in membership is as follows:

1-Introduction form.  The first stage for membership with Covenant Life is to prayerfully and thoughtfully complete and submit the “Introduction Questionnaire.”

2-Conversation with elders.  It is the desire of our leadership that each member have spent some time with the elders of CLC.  The purpose of this conversation is to foster community with those desiring membership as well as to provide an outlet for any lingering questions about the church to be asked.  Our hearts desire is to know you and for you to know us.

3-Attend “Foundations.”  Attending these classes is the first step towards membership at CLC.  Your attendance does not obligate you to join, but will give you an understanding of who we are, who we hope to become, what we believe, our church’s covenant, and a host of other things that will be helpful in understanding the “DNA” of Covenant Life Church.

4-Covenant together with the congregation.  After completing these three stages of membership and upon a recommendation to the congregation from the elders, individuals will be invited to publicly affirm and sign our church covenant.  If accepted, the congregation will then corporately affirm that Covenant Life Church add these individuals to the membership of Covenant Life Church.  Then begins the excitement of doing life with others in the church by serving, studying, praying, and growing together in Christ!
