LMCO 2022
For 175 years, the Southern Baptist Convention has unwaveringly supported the efforts of church planting, evangelism, and other missions work around the globe. Through the annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (LMCO), thousands of churches—including our own—give generously every December to continue the work done by missionaries sent from our own churches. This year, Covenant Life Church aims to raise $28,000 to support the global $196 million goal. 100% of every donation to the LMCO is sent to IMB missionaries around the world, funding their salaries, housing allowances, healthcare, and other resources to spread the gospel and plant churches, especially amongst people who would otherwise have no access to it.
More importantly than CLC hitting our $28,000 goal is the desire to see every single CLC family contribute to the offering. We want to be a church fully committed to the work of international missions among the unreached, and this is an important way each of us may advance that effort.
The LMCO is named after Charlotte (Lottie) Moon, a missionary to China in the early 20th century. She championed an annual offering amongst Southern Baptist Churches to increase funding toward fulfilling the Great Commission worldwide. The spirit of her passion for having Christ’s name proclaimed amongst the nations is continued through this annual offering. We are honored to take part in it and are prayerful that these funds will be used to make God’s name famous among the nations.
We will receive the offering on Sunday, December 18 during our gathering. We encourage all to pray about giving generously toward this goal of raising $28,000. You can give by bringing cash or a check (memo: Lottie Moon), or by giving online. Whether you can give or not, we ask that you regularly pray for the missionaries serving worldwide through the IMB—that much fruit would come through their proclamation of the gospel.
