Pastoral Internship Program
Covenant Life Church is excited to continue another year of our pastoral internship program! It is our prayer that God would use this program to increase your affections for Jesus and the spread of His glory as you join Him on mission alongside Covenant Life.
The Mission of Covenant Life Church: We exist to display God’s glory by becoming a gospel-centered community that works for the gospel renewal of Tampa Bay & all nations. Our internship program is an extension of this mission. We believe that it is the local church’s responsibility to train & equip men to serve, lead, & plant gospel-centered, Christ-exalting, local churches. It is our hope that this internship helps build a seamless continuity between your head, heart, & hands for the glory of Christ. We pray that those whom we train will become “like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither, and in whatever he does, he prospers” (Psalm 1:3). We believe that the local church is the context for life-changing discipleship. We hope to see you grow in being marked with gospel intentionality, spiritual boldness, doctrinal fidelity, missional passion, Christ-like humility, faithful obedience, and a zeal for Christ’s church.
How will the CLC internship benefit me?
Most notably the internship of CLC works to instill a biblically faithful, gospel saturated DNA deep into your soul—which will encourage you to treasure Jesus above all else. Interns will be immersed into Covenant Life Church, which will help build a paradigm for what its like to serve & develop leaders within a gospel-centered context. We are confident that this will help develop a biblically accurate love for the gospel & the church. Additionally, the internship will provide intentional discipleship and mentoring relationships with other elders, pastors, and/or ministry leaders. These relationships will focus on the intern’s character – caring for their holiness, marriage, singleness, parenting, and/or other life issues in both formal & informal settings. Lastly, our internship will offer ministry leadership opportunities as each intern will undertake weekly ministry responsibilities as well as one substantial ministry project that will aid CLC in better fulfilling our mission.
Who is the internship for?
The internship is available for male members of Covenant Life Church who desire theological and spiritual formation and an introduction into pastoral ministry. It is our prayer that the men who complete this internship will be closer to contributing to the health of the church in a leadership position.
