Worship Through Prayer – May 20, 2018

Father, we come before you this morning thanking you for grace that has been given to us in Christ Jesus. Grace that loved us even while we were still sinners. Grace that has forgiven us of our sins and made us your adopted sons and daughters through faith alone in the work of Christ on the cross, who stood in our place, bore the wrath deserved for us and broke down the wall of hostility that separated us from you. We stand in awe of you, we worship you and we say together with one voice this morning, “alleluia, what a Savior!”

Thank you, God, that you not only saved us from the wrath we deserved, you not only gave us the hope of Heaven for eternity with you, but you also gave us the gift of being a part of the body of Christ here and now as members of your church. Remind us again of what you have told us we are called to do and be as brothers and sisters in Christ, and how our love for one another is to be so remarkable that it would be a testimony to all that we are your disciples. Forgive us Father where we have failed to outdo one another in showing love, to not pass judgment on one another, to bear with one another in love, eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Help us to encourage one another and build one another up, to serve one another, to confess our sins one to another, to forgive one another, and to pray for one another. Thank you for your patient love that is continually molding and making us into the image of Christ and for the promise that you will never stop that work until the day it is completed.

As we send out Micah, Blessing and Cynthia to the Dominican Republic, we pray that you would give them safety as they go and return. We pray that Blessing and Cynthia would be a source of encouragement to the ladies at the women’s conference. As they teach, may the Word of Christ dwell in them richly, and that you would use your Word to accomplish your purposes in the lives of the hearers while they are there. Use Micah, we pray, as he teaches at the Bible institute with Noah to encourage the men in the all-important gospel work that you have called them to do. May we all find our place to serve in the same calling that we share to be disciple makers and to see the gospel go into all the world. Thank you for those that brought the gospel to us, and help us to be faithful, unashamed witnesses of the gospel to those that you have placed around us, and always with an eye also to those around the world that have not yet heard the glorious gospel truths in Christ by which they must be saved.

Be glorified in our midst this morning as we continue to worship in singing and giving and listening to your Word. As we give our attention to your Word in Psalm 29, give us ears to hear and give our pastor the words to speak that will draw us into greater worship for how amazing you are.

We pray these things in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
