July Bookstall Update

This week at the bookstall, we have several new titles in – including something for you!

  • Adopted for Life, by Russell Moore. We hope to carry more resources like this in the future, to help our families walk through issues surrounding them. Quote: “We often forget that the Christian walk is not merely about getting us into heaven, but it is also about getting heaven into us … Thus, it is no surprise that the apostle James offers this injunction to the Early Church: ‘Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world’ (James 1:27).” $11 (compared to $13.89 at Amazon)
  • The ESV The Gospel of John, Reader’s Edition. John’s gospel offers a close look at Jesus’s life and ministry. These nice, pocket-sized “reader” edition from Crossway have a reading plan in the back and are formatted like a novel without chapters or verses. Pick up one to give away! John 20:31 says, “But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.” $2 (compared to $2.99 at Amazon)
  • Humble Roots: How Humility Grounds and Nourishes the Soul, by Hannah Anderson. After our women’s Table for Three studies, several women asked if we planned on restocking these! Here’s a nice review that mentions how, until now, the topic of humility has too often been written only with men in mind. $8 (compared to $10.39 at Amazon)
  • The Unquenchable Flame: Discovering the Heart of the Reformation. Also back in stock this week is Michael Reeves’ excellent book on the Reformation. An informative and fast-paced introduction on this important era in church history. “As long as doctrine is ignored, we must remain captives of the ruling system or the spirit of the age, whatever that may be…” $9 (compared to $11.84 at Amazon)

Make sure to come see us before or after our corporate gathering and grab a book or two for the summer. More to come later in July!
