Worship Through Prayer – August 12, 2018

Lord you are Holy. You are the Holy One of Israel.

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in your holy places?

By your very nature Lord, you are set apart from sin. And through the sin of this world, man is set apart from you.

You are glorious, majestic, infinite, wise beyond measure. Your power is immeasurable, your plans unimaginable.

But our very nature is corrupt. And so we stand condemned.

But God, you are rich in mercy. You have given your people a great high priest in your Son Jesus Christ. Who by a single offering has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. So that now, we may have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus. Lord you have given us a great priest over the House of God. Oh Lord we praise you, we thank you, we fall at your feet and worship you.

Lord, let us be freshly reminded of the beauty of the Gospel. Let us rest in Awe of your great work.

Lord as your people, we are called to be Holy, because you are holy.

Yet we rebel. We pursue our own pleasure rather than your Glory.

Lord pardon our sins. Sins of omission and commision, of angry tempers, of unfaithfulness to your cause, of deception, injustice, untruthfulness in dealings with others, of impurity in thought, word and deed, of covetousness – which is idolatry, of the possessions we hoard and squander, of sins in private and in public, of our neglect to regularly meet with you in word and prayer.

Lord by your spirit, sanctify us, help us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which we have been called.

Help us to submit to you oh heavenly Father, that we may obey your commands, that we may forgive our enemies. By your power, let us never lust, never covet, never lie. Let us love you Father God with our whole being, and love our neighbor as ourselves.

Lord we thank you for the gift of clarity in your word. That you have given us in great detail, a model for how now we ought to live. Lord we thank you for the gift of rest you have given Justin over the past 6 weeks. Lord we pray for great fruit from this time. We pray that you would continue to use him, this pulpit, this church building and these people to save the lost.

Lord I ask that you would grow the members of Covenant Life Church in Christlikeness, in His love and humility and steadfastness and service and obedience, that we may be a Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation, presented to you in splendor, holy and without blemish.

“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is to come.” Lord we love you, we praise you, we thank you for the attoning gift of Your son Jesus Christ. It’s in his matchless name we pray.

Amen.
