About Us

Membership

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. – 1 Corinthians 12:12

Join Us

Belonging to a local church is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. We believe the church is the primary vessel God uses to spread His glory across the earth. The images the New Testament uses – like body, household, and flock – demonstrate the great affection and desire Jesus has for the followers He knits together (1 Timothy 3:15, 1 Peter 2:5, 25, 5:2).

If Christ is like a diamond of inestimable beauty and worth, local churches are like the prongs, designed to hold up and showcase that diamond’s preeminence. For this reason, we desire to be a healthy church that shows how beautiful and worthy our Savior is. Here’s how someone moves from visiting to joining as a member:

01

Foundations Classes.

We’d love you to join the introductory classes we offer throughout the year. In six brief classes, we help you gain familiarity with what we believe and how this informs our duties and privileges as members. In this time, you’ll also get to know our elders better, and to ask questions before you decide to move forward.

02

Introduction Form.

After completing our classes, your next step will be to fill out a provided form. This helps us get basic details about your background, conversion, and current walk with the Lord. It also gives us insight on how we can specifically pray and care for you.

03

Membership Conversation.

Next we’ll schedule an opportunity for you to meet with a couple of our elders, so we can recount God’s work in your life. This time offers you another chance to know us as leaders, and to clarify any lingering questions you might have.

04

Covenant with CLC.

During regularly scheduled members’ meetings, our elders recommend candidates for membership. In this time, members often share evidence of how they have seen the gospel at work in prospective members’ lives. After CLC votes to receive you into membership, we’ll coordinate an opportunity for you to be baptized (if you haven’t done so already), and to publicly affirm and sign our church covenant so your life as a member can formally begin!

If you’d like to learn more about why membership is essential, we’d love a chance to talk to you. You may also benefit from this free resource.
