The Gospel
The Bible’s central message, that Christ died for our sins and was raised on the third day according to the scriptures transforms everything (Corinthians 15:3-4). The gospel changes us, giving us all that we need pertaining to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). It is both the starting point for a believer and the means for ongoing growth through all of life.
Sound Doctrine
God’s Word is the ultimate authority for all of life (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Our gatherings are centered on ordinary means of grace. As the Bible is taught expositionally, the main point of the passage is the main point of the sermon. We are shaped not only by studying these truths, but praying and singing truth. As precious doctrines transform us and reverberate among our church body, we’re equipped to love, instruct and guard one another from being swayed by every wind of false teaching (Titus 1:9).
Biblical Community
The gospel creates a new type of family and community. Like the earliest examples of New Testament churches, we aim to be diverse but undivided, and dedicated to authentic, daily fellowship. Spouses, parents and singles are all fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, essential to our body's health and function (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, 1 Corinthians 7:32-35). As we grow in God's wisdom, we grow to protect one another from sin, stir each other toward love and good deeds, and share in the joy and strength of our life together (Hebrews 3:13, Acts 2:42-47).
The Family
The same gospel that reforms and restores individuals brings restoration to the home (Romans 6:4). God's Word establishes clear roles for husbands, who should humbly love and lead their home. Wives should likewise submit and support their husbands. Children are a blessing from the Lord, in need of physical and spiritual nurturing. The family is the primary unit for discipleship; all members in the church, regardless of their status, work together to promote God-honoring families.
Our City
We love Tampa and are committed to working for her physical and spiritual good. Christ compels us to be generous servants, using our time, talents and treasures to see all areas of our city impacted. Members are encouraged to work with excellence in their professions; to be generous with the gospel in the workplace and through other pursuits. Through our witness and influence, we long to see the arts, business, government, education and every other aspect of culture transformed (Ephesians 2:10).
Church Planting
The goal to see new churches planted and existing churches revitalized is a need not just in our city but in every place where people exist. We are committed to display God’s glory by giving constant efforts to church planting and revitalization. With joyful obedience, we go, give, send and pray to participate in the truth of God reaching all peoples (Matthew 28:18-20).
